The Henryk Wieniawski Airport Poznan at Ławica is located several kilometers from the city center with convenient communication by public transportation and taxis.
A bus ride should take no more than 30 minutes, a taxi 15-20 mins when traffic is not heavy, of course. This new, modern airport is not big and you will find all the services needed at departures and arrivals in a new city.
The main terminal has ATMs, Change, restaurants and cafeterias, tourist information - with the latest The Visitor copy - car rental, souvenir shops, post office and airline or tourist agency offices. The taxi rank and bus stop are located in front of the terminal. If you do not want to take any of the taxis waiting outside have a look at the taxi section and order one by phone.
Airport is serviced by bus lines:
59 - (Departures ca. every 30 minutes) - route: AIRPORT ŁAWICA -Jasna-Szpitalna-Polna/Szpital-BAŁTYK. Estimated route time 20 minutes. Regular tickets are valid on this bus (see section communication/tickets and note that tickets are not sold on the bus but in kiosks in the Terminal).
L - (airport line, departs every hour from 05.20 till 22.15) - route: AIRPORT ŁAWICA-Szpitalna-Bałtyk-MAIN RAILWAY STATION. Estimated route time 20 minutes. Special tickets are valid on this bus (they can only be purchased on the bus: see section communication/tickets).
242 – (night line, departs every hour from 23.52 to 03.52).
A taxi to the city center should cost no more than 35 zł and 45 zł on weekends and holidays.
The area outside the airport is a limited, paid parking zone. It is divided into section A and B.
Car entrance to B section is free for 15 minutes.
Take a ticket on entering this zone. Every extra 15 minute will cost you 15 zł! Parking fees in A zone: 30 min 3 zł, 1h 5 zł, 1,5h 8 zł, 2h 10 zł, 6h 20 zł, 12h 30 zł, 24h 50 zł, 3 days 120 zł, 2 weeks 250 zł. Except for the price, just like in all airports around the world!
